However, they are characterized by a series of important differences.<\/p>\n<h3>Long stay visas processing time<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/auvisa.org\/uk\/evisitor-visa-australia\/\">eVistor application<\/a> is instant approval, however long stay visa can take <strong>up to 20 days to get processed<\/strong> and usually more documents\/information are requested by Immigration office in Australia.<\/p>\n<h3>Eligible countries for Visitor Visas<\/h3>\n<p>While <a href=\"https:\/\/auvisa.org\/uk\/evisitor-visa-australia\/#countries\">only a few countries<\/a> are eligible for Australian eVisitor visas, the citizens of essentially any country can apply for a visitor visa.<\/p>\n<h3>Location when making the application for a long term visa<\/h3>\n<p>While applicants must be outside of Australia at the moment of their evisitor application, <strong>long stay visa application can be made while inside Australia<\/strong>, for example with the purpose of <strong>extending the current visa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>Validity of Australian Visitor Visas<\/h3>\n<p>Long stay visas can be issued with single entry or multiple entries. Each <strong>entry can be valid for 3, 6 or 12 months.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Usage of Visitor Visas to extend your current visa<\/h3>\n<p>If your current visa does not have a \u201cNo further stay\u201d condition, <strong>you can use an Austalian Subclass 600 visa to apply for the extension of your current visa<\/strong>. Notice that during the application process, you can stay inside Australia.<\/p>\n<h3>Conditions of Australian long stay visa<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>You must not work<\/strong> while in Australia. Voluntary work may be permitted.<\/li>\n<li><strong>You must not study for more than 3 months<\/strong> while in Australia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Medical requirements for visitor visas<\/h3>\n<p>If you are applying for a visa longer than 6 months, <strong>you may be asked to undergo a chest x-ray and\/or medical examination<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If you are over the age of 75 years old or coming from a country that Australian Immigration considers as having a high level of risk, you may need to provide evidence that you can meet the visa\u2019s medical requirements.<\/p>\n<h3>Proof of funds for visitor visas<\/h3>\n<p>When applying for a long stay visa, you must have <strong>sufficient funds to support yourself during your whole stay in Australia<\/strong>.
